Circuit City!

The number two nation’s biggest electronics retailer filed for bankruptcy protection today. They do have plans to stay open for business though. And with one of the worst holiday shopping season’s coming up who knows how they will do. I was reading that the main reason for filing Chapter 11 was to get supplies moving again. It seems that vendors have been holding back inventory, which now they have to release. Apparently Circuit City owes Hewlett-Packard $118.8 million, Samsung $115.9 million, Sony $60 million, Zenith $41.2 million, Toshiba $17.9 million and many others. I got those numbers off a report done up on Yahoo.com. This bankruptcy only means one thing; more jobs will be lost. And on top of the cutting job’s Circuit City will be closing more stores. I knew this was going to happen when there stock price was trading below $1 for awhile now. Hopefully this won’t be too painful for a lot of communities these locations are around.

Now, if you live in the Los Angeles, downtown area this seems to be a great place to go to. I don’t go to a lot of coffeehouses in my area, but I would definitely visit this one. It looks like a great place to meet people and just hang out. So check the site out, check the video out, and if you live in the area, check their location out.

Ford Motor Co!

I just read a report online that reported Ford Motor Co. lost $129 million in the 3rd quarter. And on top of the huge lost they also blow away $7.7 billion in cash. If you ask me, instead of trying to grow at this point you should maybe try to cut back some. Ford Motor may have peak and is now to cut back with the times. If they haven’t already they should also stop making so many trucks. People in today’s world are not buying trucks anymore. The only ones buying trucks are the people who really need them for work related stuff. Now I know that trucks carry the biggest profit for any automaker, but you can’t make money if their sitting car lots across America. People want better fuel economy cars, and that’s what all automakers should be focusing on, which I think they are. Anyway, Ford and other automakers need to get their acts together or they will be closing factories across America. And the only ones that will get hurt are the people working in these high paying factory jobs.

Election 2008!

It’s finally over, election 2008. And we American’s have just made U.S. history. We now have our first black President of the United States. This country has come so far just over the last few decades. And people across the world are feeling overjoyed with Barack Obama’s election to President as well. If you didn’t know this already, the world was polled on who they would like to see be America’s next President be. And the result was Barack Obama 3 to 1 over McCain. With that being said, I would like to end on this note. I want only one thing from our new President Barack Obama; I want to be able to call America my proud home again. Because for some many years now America has been looked down on from other nations. He needs to bring American’s back together as one nation again. And I hope that Barack Obama will do this. We are the greatest nation on earth, but we can do much more, and we will.
