Long Enough!

It seems that the Senate can’t get things moving on this $14 billion bailout for the automakers. And President Bush is trying to get a few of the Republicans to agree on the plan. But a lot of them are sticking to what they believe in and are going to vote no on the bailout. If there’s not a majority vote the bill will die. And if that happens the U.S. Market as well around the world will all fall deeper. I personally don’t care if the bill fails; my 401k has already hit rock bottom, as well as others. I guess we shouldn’t really look at that thought. I do know if they fail a lot of jobs will be lost, but most of these jobs are going to be cut either way. If any one of the automakers falls it will affect vendors and even hit the car insurance industry. So should we let them fall or save them, I really don’t have an answer for that. But whatever choice is made I sure hope it’s a good one.

Free Spending!

Here’s a good story about how the New York Yankees love to spend money. If he passes is physical and drug test CC Sabathia will become the highest paid pitcher in MLB history. He will be signing a record $161 million contract with the New York Yankees. And thought we where in a recession, I guess not in MLB. This deal just comes to show that Steinbrenner, the owner of the New York Yankees will spend any amount of money to win another World Series. I think Steinbrenner needs to get his head checked for paying this amount of money. Because what it comes down to is the fans will pay for this. Ticket prices are going to sore to new heights just to pay these huge wages. Plus the New York Yankees have a new $1.3 billion stadium where I read that tickets will cost in the thousands. This is freaked nuts; fans should boycott going to games for a few weeks and see what happens. I would be willing to bet it would hurt the teams and give them a reality check. I’m sorry, these players are all over paid. And most will end up in some sort of trouble during and after their careers are over. If I’m wrong tell me so.
