OPEC Cuts Production!

It seems that OPEC to trying to make us pay through the roof again. And they’re doing this by cutting oil production by 2.2 million barrels a day. By doing so will make the supply go down and demand go up, which in turn the price of oil goes up. And that means you and I pay more at the pumps. But their plan failed today because the price of oil went down by 8 percent. This just comes to show how bad of a recession we’re in as well as how much fuel demand has dropped. I read that forecasters think our fuel demand could decline in energy use since 1983. I think the decline is mostly due to people being fed up with oil companies and are finding other ways to get around. I also think part of this recession is in part of the higher gas prices we where paying a few months ago. No one could afford to travel or do anything else, therefor everything fell apart. The only ones that got rich off those high gas prices are the same ones crying now. They want to bring the oil per barrel back to $100. If this happens again we’ll be right back in the same boat again.

The SEC Failed!

The Securities and Exchange Commission has failed all Americans and investors worldwide. They failed us because they put to much trust in these fat cats on Wall Street, like Bernard L. Madoff who ran the biggest Ponzi scheme in U.S. history. And the next question the SEC should ask themselves is, who else is doing this? The SEC regulators in charge of watching over people like Bernard L. Madoff should be terminated immediately. They’re weren’t doing their job then and they’re not doing it know, so cut them. And the whole crazy thing about all this is that the SEC didn’t even catch him, his family turned him in. If SEC Chairman Christopher Cox doesn’t act fast he should too. After all he should be making sure the people that work for him should be doing their jobs. If you ask me, I would be willing to bet that a few SEC regulators looked the other way to fatten their pockets, nothing surprises me these days.

I was just reading a report that the cable company Virgin Media is the first Internet provider to roll out a super-fast broadband service in Britain. The connection speed will be around 50 megabits per second, which is super-fast. And what makes this new service so great is it will be offered to a mass amount of people on the network. And Virgin Media will be offering this service by mid 2009 to more than 12 million homes. So far their fiber connections to the Internet are the fastest and will be for years to come. No one is even close to the speed they just launch in the area. If your wondering what the average speed right now in Britain is, it’s 4 to 5 megabits per second. So you can see why this is such a big deal around the world. People want to be connected faster and faster and are willing to pay for that speed. There will be no way Internet Providers will ever be able to keep up with what we want; it’s not possible.
