Lets Hope!

It’s time to get the mops, wet mops and out and start cleaning the glass tile floor. Because businesses are starting to bring people back to work. I read that some businesses are evening handing out over time to ramp up the production of their new products. The word on the street is that businesses are going to be producing a ton of products a month, that’s a lot of stuff.

Another thing I read was that automakers like Honda are investing a lot of money in this next-generation car technology. Honda is investing in new battery’s for their hybrid’s. Right now most hybrid’s get about 100 miles per charge, which isn’t that much. If they can get a car to go about 400 miles per charge I think everyone would buy one, I would. From what I’ve read it’s really not worth paying the extra money to get a hybrid, the cost savings isn’t really their yet. What I do think is that some day very soon their will be a battery that will hold a long charge, which will help the economy and the environment, lets hope for the best.

I have one simple question for everyone reading this, do you live in New York? If so you need to make sure you find an insurance provider that meets your needs. As most of you living in New York already know that auto insurance isn’t cheap. And if you ever need to file an auto insurance claim you better be with a local auto insurance provider. If you click on the link that I provide in this post it will take you to a site that could help you save cash on auto insurance, as well as other insurance products. This company is the same provider we use, no problems as of yet, we haven’t had to make a claim yet. Anyway, check the site out to get your customize quotes, you can call in by phone or complete a form online. Stop over paying!

Brake Repairs!

Anyone out there looking for an auto repair center? Or maybe you’re looking to get your Chevrolet Silverado repaired. If so, and you live in the Dallas area do a simple search for a Dallas auto repair center near you. I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for. But if not ask around to see who they would recommend to you. I don’t live in the Dallas area, that’s why I recommend doing a simple search online, works for me.

Now lets say you need a brake job, make sure your search also includes the repair you need. Taking your truck or car to a body shop to have brake work done isn’t always the best way to go. I understand stand that body shops do brake work as well, but I would rather take the truck to a shop that focuses on auto repairs, not body work. So do your search today, and make sure you just don’t do a general search, search for what you need.

A bankruptcy judge has cleared the way for General Motors Corp. to sell it’s self. And guess who’s buying all assets, we are, the American people as well as Canada. Canada will be purchasing about 12 percent, but the American government will be taking on well over 50 percent. I really have no idea if this is a good move or not, but it does save a lot of jobs in the end. I’m sure the jobs being saved won’t pay anywhere’s near what they where in the past. But then again that’s the reason why GM and Chrysler failed. Workers where being paid a ton of money for little work. But I’m not going to go into all that at this point. All that’s in the past, we must move forward and get people back to work at the right pay. Hopefully the sale will go forward without a problem. And I sure hope the U.S government will stay out of the running of GM as promised.

Hot Deals On Chryslers!

With the 785 plus Chrysler dealerships closing there could be a whole lot of deals coming your way. That’s because these dealers getting cut from Chrysler need to get these cars off their lots by June 9th. After that date they will no longer be approved to sell a brand new Chrysler. Some of these dealers have huge inventories, which they own. The loses to these dealerships could be in the high thousands.

In case if you don’t understand how a dealership works here’s a short look into it. The dealers purchase these cars from the manufactures, with loans. These loans payments they pay off when the car sells. The dealer doesn’t have to pay on the loan, but they nee to pay the interest, which is running up on the unsold cars. So you can see why these dealers that are being dropped are going to really feel it come June.

So now is the time to by a Chrysler, if you like them. The deals are going to be huge, starting right now. The longer you wait, there better the deal, but the selection may be low. I would say get out and look, if you like the car or truck toss in a low ball offer, who knows, they might take it.

GM And Bankruptcy!

I have no idea why General Motors Corp. is dancing around the fact that bankruptcy is going to happen to them come June 1st. They keep stating that their hoping to restructure without court protection. What I think is happening is that their getting their paper work in order to file for court protection. They have to, there’s no way the deal their trying to do with their debt will work. Their trying to get the bond holders and auto workers union to take 10 percent of the company in exchange for $27 billion debt. Who in their right mind would take that offer. And there’s no way Obama is going to bond holders to agree to it. Just look what happen to Chrysler, the bond holders told Obama no way. So no one be surprise when June 1st comes and General Motors files for chapter 11, it will happen.

Unions Kill Businesses!

I have said this a thousand times, unions kill businesses, they really do. And this will happen within the auto industry. That’s because there’s a deadline coming, today that needs to be set and the United Auto Workers Union is going to be holding it up. The UAW thinks they’re helping the employees but their not. What’s going to happen is General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC are going to go out of business if the UAW doesn’t rework the deals with these companies. If the deadline to rework these contract aren’t in place by today the automakers might not get anymore money to stay in business. The only people to lose in a deal like that is the autoworkers, contractors and the American people. So please don’t try to tell me unions work, because they don’t. I once was in a union, and most of the time they did nothing for you. You’ll see what I’m talking about when the UAW brings down 2 major automakers within a year. Unions in any industry don’t work, they really don’t.

GM’s New Line Up!

At the Detroit Auto Show this year General Motors Corp. introduced 17 new and upcoming vehicles. Their planning on releasing their version of the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris this year in Europe. And they also introduced that the same car will be released in the U.S. by 2011, which is a big step forward. But the big surprise wasn’t the 17 new vehicles it was the introduction of the Cadillac Converj concept car. This car is designed to go 40 miles on electric power. And there is no special way to charge it up, just plug it in the wall at your home and your ready to go. And once your batteries run low you can switch over to gas, which will increase your miles. This new concept car will have the same powertrain technology that’s in the Chevrolet Volt. This new technology is just what GM may need to get them back on track. After all, this is what we’re looking for in our vehicles today, more miles on less gas. So now instead of your gasoline bill going up your home electric bill will. Just doesn’t seem like we can really ever win.

Long Enough!

It seems that the Senate can’t get things moving on this $14 billion bailout for the automakers. And President Bush is trying to get a few of the Republicans to agree on the plan. But a lot of them are sticking to what they believe in and are going to vote no on the bailout. If there’s not a majority vote the bill will die. And if that happens the U.S. Market as well around the world will all fall deeper. I personally don’t care if the bill fails; my 401k has already hit rock bottom, as well as others. I guess we shouldn’t really look at that thought. I do know if they fail a lot of jobs will be lost, but most of these jobs are going to be cut either way. If any one of the automakers falls it will affect vendors and even hit the car insurance industry. So should we let them fall or save them, I really don’t have an answer for that. But whatever choice is made I sure hope it’s a good one.
