How do you feel about the government breathing done your neck when you travel? I think that sometimes they go a little over board with their searches of people’s personal devises. Now I’m not talking about the devices themselves, I’m talking about what’s stored on them. Their concern isn’t what the devise is, but what your music is or what pictures you took. Now this type of search is only done on passages coming into the U.S, not local travel. It’s almost to the point that the U.S Government is going to tell us what type of lighting we should use, because we need to save power. I think the government needs to remember who they work for, us. We still pay their wages, and always will. Now I understand why they do what they do, just don’t try to control us. There’s no need to know what pictures we took or what’s on our MP3 a player. Back off with the personal invasions of our rights.

Fighting To Live!

I just read an article online about how Army Specialist Zachary Boyd, 19 defended his post in Afghanistan in a red T-shirt and boxers emblazoned with the message, “I love NY. Now this wasn’t his plan, his base came under attacked while he was sleeping. When the Taliban started firing he needed to get to his position, no mater what. Me personally I don’t think this kid is any different than any of the other soldiers fighting over there. These soldiers are fighting for their lives and freedom, they would show up nude if they had to. We have the best fighting forces in the world.

The thing that bothered me the most about this article was that Boyd thought he was going to lose his job. He told his parents that he might lose his job if President Barack Obama saw him out of uniform. But U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that he would like to meet Boyd and shake his hand for what he did. Gates also stated that Boyd’s job is safe. Now to the part that bothered me. Why should a soldier feel that way, he’s fighting to live. He or she should not worry about what their worried when forced out of bed to fight to live. I could careless if he was nude, he or she should be able to defend themselves any way they can. And for what Gates said, he gets one point from me, still no points for Obama.
