I was reading an article on Yahoo not to long ago that the new deadliest job in America is repair cell phone tower workers. I read that the fatality rate is currently 184 deaths per 100,000 workers. Most of the deaths are caused from workers not wearing their safety gear, what? I can tell you this, if I’m 300 hundred feet in the air I’m wearing every piece of safety gear I can. I’m not going up without a good pair of Lowa Boots – REACH , I’m wearing my boots. Now I understand that their being pushed to work faster, but that’s a human life, get hooked up man. I would consider on finding another job or maybe tell my boss to go up there with no safety gear on. I would never put my family in those shoes. Whoever is doing this job should always know, the money isn’t worth dying for, put your gear on and make sure you go home at night.

When starting a new job it can be very nerve-racking, as well as it could be very exciting at the same time. While you’re looking forward to making that fresh start and to meet new people, you’re also feeling nervous about fitting in with other co-workers. For most people the hardest part of returning to the work force is having to prove themselves all over again, and have to put on those Mechanix gloves all over again. Here are a few tips to help you easy your way back to work. You should network, try to get to know as many people as you can. Working with people you know will help. Knowledge, the more you know the better. Stay current with any new trends. Another great way to find a great job is volunteer as much as you can. You never know who is watching you. And the most important thing is to stay positive. With a positive outlook on things will make you shine.

I’ve written about this topic in the past, deadliest jobs in America. Do you know what is the deadliest job in America right now is? Here’s a clue, “just about everyone in America carries one of these because of the men and women who risk their lives to install them.” Did you get it yet, if not here’s the answer, cell phone tower workers. It’s been reported that 183.6 deaths per 100,000 workers are killed a year from falls. Most of the deaths are caused from workers not wearing their safety gear, what? I’ll tell you what, if I’m a few hundred feet in the air I’m wearing every piece of safety gear I can, plus I’m also buying some of the best fitness equipment I can buy to stay in shape. Now listen, I understand that their being pushed to work faster, but that’s a human life, get hooked up, stay safe. If my boss told me to work faster 200 feet up I’ll tell him to go up there and work faster, or look for work elsewhere, I would never put my family in those shoes. Whoever is doing this job should always know, the money isn’t worth dying for, put your gear on and make sure you go home at night.

Here we go again with more and more jobs being cut. The last few weeks it had been bad for the U.S. work force. The people laid off or terminated seeking unemployment benefits jumped last week, stated the government. The Labor Department reported new applications for unemployment was up once again. This is way up compared to last weeks numbers, even over the last year. I read somewhere that they think this is a good thing because the private jobs were up. This rise was not expected, matter of fact people thought unemployment was going to go down. Sounds like I need to get my medical resume updated because those are the only jobs out there right now. I don’t care what anyone else is saying, things are not getting better.

With so many jobs being lost in today’s economy it’s time for people to start looking for a new career. I think the best way to look for an IT job is to do a simple search related to high tech jobs, pc tech jobs and maybe even computer memory jobs. Or maybe you already know of a site that offers high tech jobs. Now is the time to get into tech jobs, because in a few years that’s all that’s going to be around. And make sure you find a school that is well known for training in the high tech world. Because if you get caught up with a school that isn’t, it could be tough to get that job you wanted. So do your research and find the right place to get trained.

Hiring Yahoo Executive!

I was just checking out some tech news and came across something that I missed last Thursday. If you can’t buy them, hire them. That’s what Microsoft did, they hired a ex Yahoo executive Qi Lu to take over it’s Online Services Group. This group has been struggling really badly since Microsoft purchased it. Microsoft purchased aQuantive in May 2007 for a whopping $6 billion. And they took on their CEO Brian McAndrews to run the business. But McAndrews never lived up to what Microsoft wanted out of him and the company they purchased. So now Microsoft will hire Qi Lu to take over this part of the business. And who knows, he just might be able to turn things around for Microsoft.

Bill Clinton Again!

It seems that President-elect Barack Obama is using President Clinton’s people. And you what, it’s really not a bad idea if you ask me. I have always said that Bill Clinton did a great job for the United States. He may have done a lot things wrong, you know what I’m talking about, but he did a lot things good too. When he left office he had America on course of getting out of debt completely. And then President Bush came into office and everything went straight down hill. Granted America did come under attack and we lost a lot of American lives. And the actions that President Bush took I feel where the right one’s. But he’s made so many bad choices that it will make for a story for another day. Anyway, the people that Barack Obama is bringing together are a great thing. These people will definitely make up where Barack Obama falls short on. I’m a firm believer in surround yourself with good people and let them do their job. And if that’s what Barack Obama does everything will turn out all right for America again.

Things are only getting worst with GM. They’re telling their employees that more production jobs are going to need to be cut. GM is also cutting their salaried staff people as well. This is all in hopes of saving cash to get them through this year. But what will happen starting next year is my question? Are they just stalling their bankruptcy proceedings, or are they wanting to Obama comes into office? If they could stay alive until Obama comes into office they might have a chance. That’s because Bush doesn’t want to give out anymore money, but Obama wants to help the automakers. I think President Bush knows that it would be a waist of taxpayer money to help the automakers. So I guess this could be Obama’s first big mistake if he gives the automakers the money they’re seeking.
