President Bush Warned Americans!

The warning is out for all Americans and lawmakers to get this $700 billion rescue plan approved. Bush stated in his address to the nation that if this bill isn’t passed American people would lose their retirement savings, rising foreclosures, lost jobs and closed businesses. Bush also stated “Our entire economy is in danger,” and he’s 100 percent right. I believe him and his top advisers that this bill is needed. I just don’t agree with putting our money on the line. But then again, our money is already on the line with huge loses if we do nothing. I said this in the past and will say it again; all CEO’s of these companies need to go to jail. They hid their mistakes and cooked the books to make their companies look good. And for that, they should pay. I will end with this, pass the bill now Congress, real Americans are getting hurt in the mess.

Hurricane Gustav!

Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana today with winds around 110 mph. And it appears that the city New Orleans would make it through with no real damage. Just three years ago around this same time period Katrina destroyed the city. With a lot of hard work the Army Corps of Engineers said the levees should hold. You might not know this, but the levees are only partially rebuilt after Katrina destroyed them. It looks like Hurricane Gustav will blow over with very little damage, if those levees hold, which they should. And with 2 million people who left the city, this time will have a home to come back to. I does look like this storm will blow over and everything will end up just find.

Airlines Fares!

I was just reading that Southwest Airlines is going to be lowering their rates. And that means other airlines will need to do the same to keep up. With the cost of fuel coming back down airlines can no longer justify the high rates. Or charge a fee for bring your luggage with you. You know, that extra fee that makes no since. I think most people would have been sold on the fact of just raising the rates. Instead of charging $25 per piece of luggage. Anyway, with the new rate schedules coming out maybe people will start traveling again.
