A Cheap Ride!

I was just reading about a cheap taxi ride you can get in Essex, VT. There’s a taxi ride company called, Recession Ride Taxi. The man that started the company, Eric Hagen say’s business is good. He also said that he hasn’t been short changed yet. He will take anything you want to give to him for the ride, even a free ride. I think this is a great thing he’s doing. It’s all about getting back to helping each other, and that’s a great thing. Businesses today only care about there bottom line, not the people they employ or their customers. Every business should be doing what Mr. Hagen is doing. And maybe we’ll have a chance to come through this recession in one piece.

Happy 4th 2009!

I would like to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July. And please, stay safe and don’t drink and drive!

Obese In American!

I was just reading not to long ago online that obese American adults now out number the people that are considered just overweight. This study was done by the U.S. Federal Government. The amount of people that took part in this study where just under 4,400 people. This report as stated that more than one-third of adults are considered obese. Which comes out to just over 70 million people, wow. With a report like this you would think it would be a wake up call for a lot of people. And there’s really no reason for people to remain overweight with help a diet pill or other diet programs. And you know what, you really don‘t need to purchase diet products, just go for a walk at your local mall. I see hundreds walking every time I go to the mall in the morning. Very easy thing to do, and it’s free.

Yahoo Not For Sale!

It seems that Yahoo Inc no longer has plans to sell its self off, or their search business. Just a last year Yahoo almost sold themselves off to Microsoft. When that deal fell through Microsoft was looking to purchase their search business, but a deal couldn’t be made. If you remember, Microsoft was trying to get Yahoo for a steal, but co-founder Jerry Yang knew the true value of Yahoo and refused to sell. This was at the time when Yahoo’s stock was sinking, and shareholders where pushing for a sale. But Yang and Yahoo’s board said no. And in the end Yang step down because of shareholder pressure. I think by Yang standing his ground against Microsoft was the right move. And in a few years everyone will see why. But getting forced out doesn’t really matter to Yang, he can get out his netbooks and other toys and sit back and enjoy his life now. That’s what I would do.
