Obese In American!
I was just reading not to long ago online that obese American adults now out number the people that are considered just overweight. This study was done by the U.S. Federal Government. The amount of people that took part in this study where just under 4,400 people. This report as stated that more than one-third of adults are considered obese. Which comes out to just over 70 million people, wow. With a report like this you would think it would be a wake up call for a lot of people. And there’s really no reason for people to remain overweight with help a diet pill or other diet programs. And you know what, you really don‘t need to purchase diet products, just go for a walk at your local mall. I see hundreds walking every time I go to the mall in the morning. Very easy thing to do, and it’s free.
Yahoo Not For Sale!
It seems that Yahoo Inc no longer has plans to sell its self off, or their search business. Just a last year Yahoo almost sold themselves off to Microsoft. When that deal fell through Microsoft was looking to purchase their search business, but a deal couldn’t be made. If you remember, Microsoft was trying to get Yahoo for a steal, but co-founder Jerry Yang knew the true value of Yahoo and refused to sell. This was at the time when Yahoo’s stock was sinking, and shareholders where pushing for a sale. But Yang and Yahoo’s board said no. And in the end Yang step down because of shareholder pressure. I think by Yang standing his ground against Microsoft was the right move. And in a few years everyone will see why. But getting forced out doesn’t really matter to Yang, he can get out his netbooks and other toys and sit back and enjoy his life now. That’s what I would do.
Salaried Employees!
Over the last few weeks General Motors Corp. has been trying to get inline to receive another cut of the bailout money. I was reading that they have until March 31st to show their still a good company. So instead of trying to reduce their high prices for vehicles their going to cut about 5,000 salaried employees. I thought the point to give the money was to help get people employed, guess not. But then again, maybe General Motors Corp. needs to get smaller again before they grow again. I also would like to add that this cut of 5,000 salaried employees would make their total cut of salaried employees just over 10,000 within a year. That’s a lot of high paying jobs gone. I think that General Motors Corp. will need to start treating what employees they have left with some promotional business gifts. Because if they fail to treat the employees they have left good, they would have any soon. I really don’t know if this is a good move by General Motors Corp., but hope it works.
