I cover a lot of professional football, so that means that I get to travel a lot during the season. I also go and report on pre-season camps which means that once August hits I’m constantly on the road. Last year while I was travelling to different training camps I noticed I was having to listen a little more closely to all the things that the coaches and players would say and I sounded awful loud in comparison on my audio recordings of those interviews.

I decided to do something about it fast, but I wasn’ t really in one place long enough to do much. So while I was on the road I got some free hearing tests in ny, stopped in at a miracle ear in richmond and finally got fitted with some hearing aids in los angeles.

I felt like a young, fresh reporter and went after the stories a little more eagerly. One coach that is one of my best contacts even told me that when I talked to him at his team’s training camp and he asked me what was different. I just laughed.

In this day and age people as well as companies are staying connected via the internet. In just a few short years ago companies where trying to collect customers email addresses to stay connected. For the most part that didn’t go over to well. There’s just to many laws around sending out emails, and for the most part people don’t check their email all the time.

During the morning news show there are features of movie reviews and also new product releases. They have various guests, from musical acts and comedy shows, to actors and company owners. Usually the guest is there to perform or answer questions, and to promote their movie, venue or business. Another reason I like this news show is for the anchorpeople and reporters; they each have a good sense of humor and relate well with each other. The newsreaders behind the desk have an entertaining way of interacting with each other and the reporters on the street are very unique. It is definitely nice to be able to watch more than just bad news.

I just came across an article tonight about something I’ve been noticing lately. The story was about how recruits for fire and ambulance services are overweight. Researchers studied candidates from the Massachusetts Firefighter and ambulance services. These researchers found out that 77 percent of the recruits were overweight or considered obese. This is a major problem for the city‘s and towns who will need them be ready to go at the drop of a hat. I do know that fire departments require their men a women to work out on a regular bases. This keeps them in shape and ready to help people when called on. If you ask me I think our firefighters and ambulance workers should all be assigned a nice mattress to sleep on, a treadmill and a good set of weights. This way they will be will rested and in the best of shape of their lives. I sure hope this problem of overweight public service members is solved very soon, for their sake and ours.

Now lets say you need a brake job, make sure your search also includes the repair you need. Taking your truck or car to a body shop to have brake work done isn’t always the best way to go. I understand stand that body shops do brake work as well, but I would rather take the truck to a shop that focuses on auto repairs, not body work. So do your search today, and make sure you just don’t do a general search, search for what you need.

I once read about a table that was a screen that could do some pretty neat things.  This new technology is being developed by a company we all know to well, Microsoft Corp.  Microsoft is teaming up with another well known company, Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.  Harrah’s Entertainment Inc is going to be one of the first to have these new table touch screens. The new touch screen is an interactive bar table that can do some pretty neat things. No need for the matouk linens on this table. I heard you can order your drinks, watch YouTube videos, play touch-screen games and even flirt with other people using the table screen at another hot spot near by. Now when you go out to places you don’t even have to meet face to face, what are these companies thinking.  I also ask, what’s wrong with this world we live in today? Now that I think about it, not to long ago people would have videos produced to meet other people. Dating firms would create a video’s for a fee to show other members. This was done in every state, even video production Virginia was done. One other thing about the table, it’s a real table, so you can place your drinks on top of it. This is pretty cool technology, I just don’t understand the flirting and meeting others via a table.
